PMSI provided CDD on behalf of Barclays Ventures for their investment in JBMI.

JBMI is a Midlands-based company, which is managed by brothers Miles and Ashley Brough. It is a world leader in aluminium dross and scrap refining technology and the processing of industrial wastes into various metallurgical products. Since its launch in 1979 it has grown to a £30m group employing 60 people, with international links to Australia, India, Iceland and Germany.

JBM’s core activity is the recycling and refining of aluminium dross, the by-product of primary aluminium production and the refining of aluminium scrap to produce aluminium ingot which is then re-used in industrial manufacturing processes.

As an extension of its core activity, JBMI utilises its own by-products by combining them with other industrial waste materials to produce blends which are used in the cement and aggregate industries.

Barclays Ventures invested £10m for a significant minority stake.
