PMSI
Career Opportunities

The smaller size of PMSI, relative to the big consultancies, represents a substantial opportunity for suitably qualified graduates and consultants to fast track their career with significant exposure to senior managers and directors.

Our culture is based on a strong work ethic, complete integrity and excellent communication skills. A strong entrepreneurial spirit is also highly regarded.

PMSI is always interested in hearing from individuals who feel they can contribute to the PMSI service offering.
Key capabilities include:

  • having strong analytical abilities
  • demonstrating good verbal and written communication skills
  • having a facility for structured thinking and generating lateral insights
  • demonstrating tenacity and 'can do' attitude

There are three functional groups within PMSI:

  • Consulting - delivers our Strategic & Commerical Consulting, Transaction Services and Research support services
  • Information Technology - develops software and database solutions
  • Data Management & Analysis - delivers our Performance Management services

Currently we are looking for people for the following positions in our UK office:

Business Analyst - £competitive
You will:

  • Be part of the growing Data Management & Analysis group. You will be involved in setting up ongoing management information services for clients, using a mixture of Microsoft and proprietary tools. You will also work in consulting teams on ad-hoc projects, supporting the Consultants via the integration and analysis of data.
  • Be based at our offices in Central London, although occasional travel to client premises may be required. There is significant potential to progress within the Data Management & Analysis group for the right candidates. Alternatively, a future transfer into our Consulting or IT groups may be a possibility for candidates who have clearly proven their skills in these areas.
  • Be able to demonstrate strong Access and Excel skills. However, you must also have an interest in the business issues being addressed by the reporting, rather than having a purely technical focus. You will be methodical and accurate, with the ability to work to tight deadlines. As part of this role, you will need to liaise with client staff and manage the work of others, so good interpersonal skills are also important.
  • Probably have a good degree in a numerate subject, plus up to 3 years experience doing data-intensive management reporting work in a commercial environment.

Consultant - £competitive
You will:

  • Have a strong commercial focus, with the ability to retain a helicopter view of a business issue, whilst also ensuring that the detail is correct.
  • Be a good communicator, with strong interpersonal skills. You should have the ability to package complex information and concepts in a way that leads senior client management through the story of our findings, but also able to develop a rapport with less senior staff who work “at the coalface”.
  • Be proactive in taking responsibility for an area of work, and able to work to tight deadlines while maintaining the quality of your work. This should be combined with a genuine intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm to dig down and find the real solution to a business issue.
  • Be highly numerate, and comfortable in drawing commercial conclusions from extensive and disparate data sources. You may therefore be a power user of Excel.
  • Hold a good first degree from a leading university, plus 2-5 years’ experience in a strategic planning, commercial, or marketing role within a blue chip corporate environment. Alternatively, you may bring relevant consulting experience
  • Fluency in an additional language is also desirable - ideally French - reflecting the international nature of our assignments.
